  Known for her iconic knee brace and ambitious personality, Kyla Avendano has spent high school preparing to become a physical therapist. Though seemingly calm and easy-going, Avendano is bold, sassy, and motivated by her passion for the medical field.

  “I always put my work first. I would stay home and study a lot during lunch; it became common to see me doing work. Underclassmen, plan ahead; stay motivated, work hard, and start thinking about your major sooner rather than later,” Avendano said.  

  Avendano attributes a tremendous amount of her success to her greatest influence: her sister. As she follows in her footsteps, Avendano pursues her dreams while forging her own path for others to follow.

  Avendano’s ambition not only helps her achieve anything she sets her mind on, but also attracts everyone she meets. Her sassy finger waves in the faces of those who stand in front of Avendano and her zealous personality will continue to guide her in her pursuit of becoming a physical therapist.
