Sarah Griffith shines with her bright energy and will to venture forward.

Sarah Griffith, a student who has contributed largely to the band program at Mission Hills, has always exemplified her connection with the community. Starting in freshman year, Griffith has dedicated her time, energy, and talent to the Class of 2023.

“[The Cardinal Alliance] has been the one constant throughout high school and it’s a community that means a lot to me,” Griffith said.
The connections and memories she has made within band has shaped who Griffith is. Not only has she established her identity through the program, but she has also excelled in her academic career.

[Don’t] be afraid to get involved and branch out. I know that everyone always says that, but I truly feel like what got me through high school was the people I met through extracurriculars

“Sarah is a dedicated student and has been fully committed to both her academics and extracurricular activities. [She] is a pleasure to have in class and is a strong contributor in our class discussions and cooperative group work. Sarah comes to class each day prepared, with a positive attitude, and fully committed to the daily lesson. I really value her as a student in AP U.S. Government and Politics and wish her the best next year as she heads off to college,” said Ryan Miller, AP Government and Politics teacher.
Griffith made her mark on those she has come across during high school, especially through her consistent positivity and involvement in the Half the Sky Club. This club’s efforts, combined with hers, set out to empower women all over campus. She plans on going to college and furthering her passion for helping others in this way.
“After high school I’m going to UC Irvine and I’m majoring in psychology. I’m not sure what I want to do after college yet, but I want to do something where I can work with kids,” Griffith said.

As she ends her journey at Mission Hills, Sarah would like to leave the underclassmen with advice.
“[Don’t] be afraid to get involved and branch out. I know that everyone always says that, but I truly feel like what got me through high school was the people I met through extracurriculars,” Griffith said.

Her closest friends, Alana Winn and Ria Rao, have encouraged her to be confident in the actions she is taking to pursue her interests.

Through her dedication, optimism, and ambition, Griffith has inspired others to not only be confident in themselves, but also in what they aspire to pursue. When Sarah walks across the stage on June 7th to receive her diploma, her peers and family will wholeheartedly be able to say she impacted them in ways they never thought they could have imagined.
