Sports Recap: February 5th – February 10th

Boys Basketball

   The boy’s basketball team had two games to end their regular season, with the first being a home game versus El Camino on Wednesday, Feb. 8th, by a score of 59-46. Then to end the week and regular season, the boys played cross-town rivals, San Marcos. The biggest game of the year, a home game, the entire gym packed, the boys knew they had to win this game. After four quarters, where both teams battled it out, the end read 61-61. This meant overtime for the Grizzlies, and they went in on fire, winning by a score of 73-63, only allowing two points in the overtime period. Entering CIF week, the boys only guaranteed game is this Tuesday, Feb. 14th, a home game against Hoover, at 7:00 p.m. Come support Grizzlies!

 

Girls Basketball

   The girl’s basketball team had two games to also end their regular season, with the first game being a home game against Rancho Bernardo on Tuesday, Feb. 7th, with the girls winning 56-33. Entering the final game of their regular season, the girls woke up on Friday, Feb. 10th, knowing they were playing a low-ranked El Camino team, the girls didn’t hold back, destroying El Camino 99-4! The girl’s only guaranteed playoff game is this upcoming Saturday, Feb. 10th at a Neutral Site, against Bonita Vista. Go support our Girls!

 

Boys Soccer

   The boy’s soccer team had two games to end off their regular season, with the first being on Wednesday, Feb. 8th against Sage Creek, with them ending in a tie, two-two. Entering the final game on Friday, Feb. 10th, the boys played La Costa Canyon and unfortunately lost five-one. The boy’s soccer team has one guaranteed CIF playoff, which is an away game against Clairmont, on Wednesday, Feb. 15th, at 5:00 p.m. Go get that win Grizzlies!

Girls Soccer

   The girl’s soccer team had two games to end off their regular season, with the first being against San Dieguito academy, which they won five-zero, on Tuesday, Feb. 7th. On Thursday, Feb. 9th, the girls won a close game against Poway, one-zero. This upcoming week, on Friday, Feb. 17th, the girls play either Christian or Sage creek in their only guaranteed CIF game, which is a home game. Go Support!

 

Track & Field

   The Track & Field team had a Tri-Meet this upcoming week on Thursday, Feb. 16th against Del Norte and Orange Glen, at Orange Glen. Send your Support Grizzles!
