Grizzlies went against Lancers September 16.

Mission Hills went to play against the top seeded Carlsbad High School team. This year’s football team is off to a two to two start going into this game against the Lancers. Coming off a two game losing streak, the senior leaders are looking to get this team back on track with a big win this week.
“We are feeling way better than week four as we took a top seeded team in San Diego down to the last play! We are excited and ready to go into this bye week with ambitions on turning this season around,” said senior Brandon Worsley, safety and wide receiver.
The football team is coming off a close game against a top 20 team in the state, Carlsbad. They are looking to continue to improve and turn it around for their next game against Oceanside. The seniors know that this is not how they would like to start their senior season, but are hopeful that they can come out strong and get another win.
“This is a chance for the team to recover and heal and prepare for the rest of the year. We are working hard to improve everyday so we can go undefeated the second half of the season,” said senior Andy Devine Jr., outside linebacker.
This bye week for the team is more than just a resting period, this is the moment in which they look to turn the ship around. Ironically, there is no better way in doing so than competing against the Oceanside Pirates this upcoming week, on Friday Sept. 30. With the football team’s hard work and preparation, they are looking to end the year winning the rest of their games and going seven to three.
“Getting to lead the team to battle with everyone trusting you and having your back because they know you have theirs is a blessing. No other feeling better than going into a battle with your brothers.” said senior Santiago Salas, running back.
The Grizzly family will always have the football team’s back and whether or not they can get the win, we are proud of them and will always be cheering loud and hard from the stands! Go Grizzlies and let’s steer this ship in the right direction!
