“I definitely want my students to enjoy their time with me and feel like they are a part of a family and the other people in this class are there with you and hanging out with you. I feel like that’s really important in developing the rapport of the class and just having a positive class culture and environment. I still feel very, very strongly that there needs to be high expectations. In terms of your actual musical performance, I mean that’s really the point of the class, I do have high expectations for that as well. I really want my students to enjoy their time in my classes and I really want them to understand that we can have fun while being very serious about what we learn and that I have high expectations for the classes.”
