Thien Vu is a current senior at Mission Hills and began her journey with a community service project in which she made DIY toys for dogs. This put into motion her passion for animals as well as bonding with others in an inclusive environment.
“Seeing everyone bond over silly icebreakers and collaborate to make as many rope toys as possible have made me feel more connected to others and find meaning in service.”
Since then, Vu always hoped to make a difference and incorporate compassion, leadership, and friendship into Key Club, especially as the club president.
She also is involved in many extracurriculars, difficult classes, and other responsibilities, which can spawn a great deal of stress. She has, over the years, however, found a way to combat this pressure.
“I found art to be an outlet for my stress, and support from friends, teachers, and programs such as the Future Center has guided my decision-making.
Constantly creating her path with an inspirational trail of achievement, Vu leaves all with a valuable piece of advice: “A life doing what you love most is the best life to live.”
