Vanessa Do shines after always doing her best in academics.

Vanessa Do is “nacho average girl.” Her achievements are above average, and she credits it all to doing what some may find impossible: quitting sports to focus on academics.

“I prefer exercising my brain over physical exercise,” Do said.

Do’s decision to choose academics over sports led to achievements that are far from minuscule, including the impressive title of Cardinal Scholar for cumulating a 4.0 GPA.

Her approachable personality yields an all-around positive vibe. Most importantly, she does not let her busy schedule get in the way of her friendships.

She is crazy, fun, and loves to do different activities. She balances things very well, and even though she can get crazy stressed out, she is a really fun person to be around,

“She is crazy, fun, and loves to do different activities. She balances things very well, and even though she can get crazy stressed out, she is a really fun person to be around,” Rachel Graham (12) said.

As a proud member of the National Honors Society and the California Scholarship Federation Do’s hard work as an honors graduate have gotten her into a prestigious college. Staying true to her nature, Do will keep making people smile and laugh as she heads to UC San Diego to major in biochemistry.
