Cameron Parker can go by many words: vivacious, iconic, cunning, confident. Over the past four years of high school, Parker has been a representative and advocate for students at Mission Hills.

“I’ve spent the last year as the president of the I Am AP program. I also spent all four years on the varsity tennis team, spending the last three as a captain. That team was like a family to me, and I’m so proud of how well we’ve done, earning the first two banners for tennis in MHHS history,” Parker said.

Parker has accumulated hours playing Just Dance with her friends and taking trips to Cold Stone. However, the mementos she treasures most are much bigger than remote controls and ice cream scoops.

“My favorite memory was speaking on behalf of students on the issue of class size at a school board meeting. There were over 500 teachers present, and I got to represent my peers—it was the most valuable and inspiring experience of my high school career,” Parker said.

Parker will be attending UC Santa Barbara to major in political science, so get ready to feel the burn Parker is determined to ignite.

“Before I die, I want to leave the world in better circumstances. From enforcing environmental protection to guaranteeing women across the country the right to choose, most of my aspirations are political, and my bucket list is full of ways to try to make that happen,” Parker said.
