(They/them) Luca Ortega is a freshman who joined the Silvertip staff. They wish to be a journalist or author when they’re older, as it has always been their passion. Although they just joined journalism, Luca looks forward to writing many articles and even improving their writing skills. They hope to join the features section to meet new people, learn people’s stories and overcome their introversion. They enjoy reading, writing, and making collages. They also enjoy baking and dream of having a pet snake. Luca has read all their life, as their entire family are readers. They are passionate about LGBTQ+ global rights, the elimination of racial discrimination, and Maya Hawke. In their four years of high school, Luca hopes to better not only themselves, but their writing, setting goals each year to motivate them.
